The night was somehow interrupted by Antoine coughing, Emilie crying in her sleep as she needed to go to the bathroom but would not move without me or Jude, and by Jacob who woke up a few times (two or three times, I can't remember) as he now seems to have caught the cold Antoine has (Great, just great!!). That is the usual rough night we seem to be having from time to time, and last night was no exception.
My first day yesterday caused me to be a little too enthusiastic with my enjoying some wine last night, which in turn allowed me to be welcomed this morning by a good ole headache, along with the kids jumping into bed with us.
Antoine was apparently still not 100%, he claimed to be sick to his stomach, but I believe he was a little stressed having to go back to school after the long spring break he dad. I don't need to mention the fact that he was beat twice by some new kid a little over three weeks ago also may have played in this new hesitation of his to go to school from time to time. With the big heart that I have , or should I say this new flexibility of mine to be able to call the shots in the morning as to who can stay home or not, I decided with proudness I'd keep them both once again, along with Jacob.
Things were fine until they started to go a bit sour. Indeed, Jacob only slept for a little over 30 minutes, and would not accept to go out of my arms for more than 10 seconds at the time. I know, a sick kid is more demanding, but with two other ones that also require attention, I needed an extra two pairs of arms at some point today. Emilie was once again a little late in going to the bathroom, which got the last piece of patience that I had out of me.
Jacob cried for a good part of the time I was preparing something for lunch. I made a mistake in thinking that since Jacob had not slept much this morning, that he'd sleep a lot more this afternoon. That when you realize that with kids, everything is inversely proportional. He ended up sleeping for a little less than an hour, and again, after that, I could not do more than keep him with me on the sofa or in my arms. Emilie and Antoine were great to help when I needed them to, and although they complained a bit, they would pick up some of their toys as I would ask them to.
At some point this afternoon, and as I did yesterday, I sent Antoine and Emilie to pick up the mail at the mailbox, along with a walkie talkie. They had a lot of fun doing that, and so did I. They were kind of on a mission, and that really brought a smile to their faces.
Upon Jude's return, we ordered some chicken, as there was no way I was going to cook anything.
Bath time came and then Antoine complained he no longer his hair that long ( yes, he had wanted the Bieber look for a while, but it was over now) so I had to pull out the good old set of conair hair kit, which made a mess in the bathroom but his hair was looking quite good and Antoine was happy, which is all that matters.
After a quick Wii bowling game, off to bed, and we then could enjoyed the latest episode of House.
I then thought I would give up this crazy idea of keeping up with a blog, which I am new to. But then I felt a commitment for the millions that I know had a chance to read me yesterday, so I then wrote this quickly. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did today.
Cheers all.
